As part of ongoing work to deliver faster, more reliable journeys on the Marston Vale Line, the East West Rail Alliance and Network Rail will be carrying out a series of essential surveys and preparatory works at the level crossing in the Marston Road area of Lidlington.
To complete this safely, a temporary closure of Marston Road will be in place from Monday 9 March to Friday 27 March 9am–3pm (Monday to Friday only).
These works will help us better understand the ground conditions, locate utilities, and carry out necessary vegetation clearance. This information is vital as we prepare for the closure of the level crossing and the construction of a new overbridge planned for 2027.
Access for residents and local businesses will be maintained at all times, and we’re committed to keeping disruption to a minimum while the work takes place. Thank you in advance for your patience. A clearly signposted diversion route will be in place throughout the closure, with traffic management teams on hand and signage installed to help guide drivers safely around the area. A map of the closure and the diversion route is included below.
