New East West Rail footbridge opens in Winslow

Communities in Winslow now have access to a brand new footbridge, helping people cross the East West Rail line between Furze Lane and the new housing development.

Designed with the environment front of mind, it will need less maintenance than the previous bridge which suffered from corrosion and the need for regular repainting.

The footbridge has been installed as part of a wider development plan for the area, with Winslow’s new station as the centrepiece. We expect construction of the station to be completed in Spring 2023,  with further work on the track and signalling system running to the end of 2023.

The works have also included refurbishment of part of the existing cycleway between the footbridge and new housing development, with the remaining section between the footbridge and Buckingham Road to be refurbished over the next few weeks.
