East West Rail Accessibility Advisory Panel to meet for their first session
Last December, we asked people to apply to our Accessibility Advisory Panel. The purpose of the panel is to understand the potential impacts of our project on disabled people and to help our teams develop the most inclusive solutions for our railway like access to stations and platforms, clarity of information and the onboard experience.
We’re delighted to share that we have now appointed 12 members, and we can’t wait to start with our first session next week as we aim to make the right decisions for the railway from the off. The people who have been selected come from right across the proposed East West Rail route with a range of lived experiences and impairments.
There’s a great mix of people from across the proposed East West Rail route and I’m excited to get the panel members together and start working together to build a better and more inclusive railway that works for everyone.” – Caroline Eglinton, Head of Inclusion
We’d like to say a sincere thank you to everyone who took the time to apply. Please do keep an eye out for future opportunities to join our Accessibility Advisory Panel down the line.
