Alan Turing's 110th Birthday
Today marks the 110th birthday of Alan Turing, pioneer of modern computing.
Alan Turing studied at Cambridge, before becoming a leading figure at Bletchley Park – responsible for breaking enemy codes during the second world war. It’s often said that his work at Bletchley shortened the war by at least two years – saving millions of lives. Discover more about Bletchley Park here.
In the face of adversity, Turing achieved great progress for innovation. In his own words, “We can only see a short distance ahead, but we can see a lot needs to be done.” Our Milton Keynes offices pay tribute to brilliant people who’ve made a positive difference, and one of our meeting spaces is named the Turing Room.
