East West Railway Company in search of bold and innovative Content Design Partner
East West Railway Company (EWR Co) has today (11 November 2020) published a Prior Information Notice (PIN) seeking a bold and innovative specialist Content Design Partner to support them in presenting complex information about the East West Rail project to the public in formats that are captivating, clear, concise and accessible.
The company is looking for a Content Design Partner who will inject new energy into the colourful East West Rail brand, providing expertise on web and digital design, building on online platforms such as EWR Co’s newly launched Community Hub, and designing adverts, documentation, videos and animations to support critical activity such as public consultations for East West Rail.
Ben James, External Affairs Executive at EWR Co said:
“Right from the start, we’ve spent a great deal of time at EWR Co asking our local communities how they like to have the conversation about their new railway. We also developed a colourful brand that is different to what’s gone before in the rail industry, and we want to build on this.
“We’ll be challenging our new Content Design Partner to present complex information in a way that reflects our values of being bold, innovative, and we’re looking for a partner who will help us walk in the shoes of the residents, businesses and potential commuters living in communities between Oxford, Milton Keynes, Bedford and Cambridge. It’s essential that communities recognise EWR Co as the trusted source of information about the East West Rail project.”
Early in the East West Rail project, EWR Co carried out research with local residents to find out how and where they want to get information and have conversations about their railway. A non-statutory consultation in 2019 and a series of face-to-face and online community events, and a survey on the new Community Hub gave EWR Co more rich insight into how local communities want to be communicated with.
The Content Design Partner contract is for three years, and interested companies are asked to visit the Delta eSourcing portal at: https://www.delta-esourcing.com/tenders/UK-UK-Milton-Keynes:-Graphic-design-services./ADRHN883K5
About the East West Rail project
East West Rail will create a new direct connection between Oxford and Cambridge. Serving communities across the area, it will bring faster journey times and lower transport costs as well as easing pressure on local roads.
Network Rail was responsible for developing the first stage in this project, connecting Oxford with Bicester, and is a partner in a construction alliance to develop the second stage of the route, where East West Railway Company (EWR Co) is acting as the Department for Transport’s sponsor.
EWR Co is now developing the route to enable services to run to Cambridge via Bedford and will be seeking statutory powers under the Planning Act 2008, following a period of extensive consultation.
